Why Relationships Matter More Than Results
In the fast-paced world of agency digital marketing, it’s easy to get lost in metrics. Click-through rates, impressions, and that all important ROI — and for good reason… they pay the bills. Fundamentally, results are important, but we believe something else holds even greater value: the relationship between an agency and its clients. And no this isn’t just an agency founder throwing shade at clients who don’t want to brief or just want to see that piece of creative pop a little more. Sadly, I’m aware that’s part of the gig.
Trust Leads to Better Results
Think about it: would you rather work with someone you trust or someone who’s just ticking boxes? When trust is at the core of a relationship, clients feel confident sharing their goals, challenges, and even uncertainties. This openness allows us to develop strategies that align with their true needs, not just what’s on the brief. In turn, campaigns become more focused, authentic, and impactful.
Trust also opens the door to creativity. When clients trust their agency, they’re more likely to embrace bold ideas that can really move the needle—whether it’s an unconventional social activation or a fresh way to engage their audience.
Collaboration Fosters Innovation
Have you ever noticed that the best ideas often come from a good conversation? The same is true in digital marketing. When clients and agencies work as a team, they can combine insights, challenge assumptions, and refine ideas. This back-and-forth is what turns good campaigns into great ones.
Strong Relationships Build Longevity
Great partnerships aren’t built overnight. They take time, patience, and effort—just like any meaningful relationship. And in digital marketing, long-term partnerships can be a game-changer. They allow us to refine strategies, learn from past campaigns, and keep improving year after year.
Think of it like building a house. You wouldn’t rip down the walls every time you wanted to redecorate. Instead, you’d build on a solid foundation, adding layers and improvements over time. That’s what a strong client-agency relationship looks like.
Say it how it is…
Miscommunication can quickly derail even the best-laid plans - if it's not right, we can change it. If it's lacking something, we can add to it. If nothings changed, expect it to be the same. We prioritise open, transparent communication - no if's no buts. It keeps everyone on the same page and means there's no hidden bumps along the road.
For us, this means:
Regular updates and reporting - no massaging of the numbers either.
Clear timelines and deliverables - we'll tell you if it changes.
A no-ego approach to feedback and revisions - if you don’t like it, we can handle it.
There's more to it than just the metrics…
Here’s a question: what makes a campaign successful? Is it just the numbers? Or is it the experience of working together and the shared achievements along the way? We’d argue it’s both.
Results matter, of course. But when relationships come first, the results naturally follow. That’s why we focus on building partnerships that prioritise mutual respect, shared goals, and a commitment to success.
Strong agency-client relationships aren’t just a nice bonus—they’re essential. They enable trust, foster collaboration, and pave the way for better, more innovative campaigns.
